How to Remove Candle Wax out of the jars
Share
You want to repurpose your candle jars? Here are three effective methods to remove the wax and give your favourite candle jars a new use.
As disappointing as it sounds, you need to say goodbye to your favourite candle when the ½ inch of wax is remaining at the bottom of the container as burning it past this point will damage your jar. However, this is your chance to give your candle a new purpose. To do so, you need to get rid of the remaining wax first, but don’t worry-it’s very easy to do:
1.Freezing Method
Place the jar in the freezer for a few hours. The cold temperature will cause the wax to contract, making it easier to remove. Once the wax is hard, use a blunt object such as a butter knife or a spoon to gently pry the wax out.
2. Hot Water Method
Pour very hot water into the jar, filling it up to the level of the wax. Let the jar sit until the wax melts and floats to the top. Once cooled, remove the solidified wax. The pour out the water and clean jar with soap and water to remove residue. Please keep in mind that since our wax is soy based you do not need to boil the water. Make sure the water is hot enough to remove the wax but not boiling in order to protect the ceramic jar.
3.Hair Dryer Method
Set the hair dryer to medium or high heat. Hold it a few inches away from the wax and direct the hot aironto the wax until it begins to soften and melt. Use paper or cloth to wipe away the melted wax. Clean the jar with soap and water to remove any residue.
